"Behold Your God!" LABTS Men's Conference Saturday

This Saturday there’s a great conference for men in Los Angeles. It’s organized by the Los Angeles Bible Training School, which I believe is the best Bible Institute in Los Angeles.

The conference theme is “Behold Your God!” because all the teaching will be about the character and attributes of God.  Often, a conference for men will focus on topics uniquely relevant to men (a previous LABTS conference was on sexual purity, and resulted in the publication of a book that is still in print and currently available for $1 on Kindle). But this time, the planners decided that the most important and most practical issue that men need to spend time studying is the character of God. The conference program (available here) announces the reason: “It is impossible to honor God as we ought, unless we know him as he is!”

The plenary speakers (see right) are Anthony Kidd on the holiness of God and Erik Thoennes on the jealousy of God. Both of these guys preach like they are on fire, Anthony at Community of Faith Bible Church and Erik at Grace Evangelical Free Church.

There are also seminar sessions by Robert Davis (on the goodness of God), Ronald Roberts (on the omniscience of God), and me (on the Trinity). These seminars will be repeated, so you can choose two out of the three.

The location is Citizens of Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Compton, and late registration ($15) starts on site at 7:30 am. By 8 we’ll be listening to Pastor Kidd on God’s holiness. It will be a great morning “for men who want to grow deeper in their faith and be more effective in ministry.”
