Essay / Theology

Books Books Books at LATC Next Week

Next Thursday and Friday, Biola University will host the first annual  Los Angeles Theology Conference. There’s some bookish goodness going on at this event:

All of the plenary lectures and a few of the parallel papers from the conference will be published within the year by Zondervan, in a volume bearing the same title as the 2013 conference: Christology Ancient and Modern: Explorations in Constructive Theology. Here’s a first peek at the cover.

With chapters by Oliver Crisp, George Hunsinger, Peter Leithart, Katherine Sonderegger, and Alan Torrance among others, it’s going to be a book worth reading. So if you’re not able to attend the conference, consider it a consolation prize that you’ll be able to get the content in your hands eventually.

But if you’re able to attend the conference, you’ll also get to hear these major theologians deliver their lectures in person, long before the book appears.

And conference registrants will also have access to our exhibit hall, where theology publishers will have tables piled with their books, at a significant conference discount. Here are our registered book exhibitors:

Baker Publishing Group

Crossway

Eerdmans

Fortress Press

InterVarsity Press Academic

Rose Publishing

Wipf & Stock

Zondervan Academic

Zondervan, of course, though last alphabetically, is first organizationally as the conference sponsor and co-planner.

In addition to these publishers, the Biola Bookstore will also be on hand in the exhibit hall with a number of books not carried by the publishers on site. And in and among all those books will be representatives of Biola’s Center for Christian Thought and graduate programs, as well as Fuller.

The conference is next week: Register now at https://latheology.com/
