Here is a great idea for a conference: The Holy Trinity in Holy Scripture. It will be held May 28-30 at Tyndale University College in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The modern period has seen a loss of confidence in traditional interpretations due to an exclusive focus on the historical meaning of the text and a corresponding neglect of the figurative or canonical meaning. This conference features paper which will interact with major interpreters of Scripture from all periods of church history and how they have derived theological teaching from Scripture.
The conference planners, Craig Collins and Stanley Walters, have put together a great line-up of plenary addresses, including the formidable John Webster as keynote speaker. The other speakers can be seen here. Included are big names like Lewis Ayres and Ephraim Radner, and little names like the estimable Mark Bowald and me.
If you’re in the area, make plans to attend. If not, you’ll have to wait for the inevitable book publication.
